Our most recent addition is this large striking action painting canvas by the French artist Yves Corbassiere. Born in 1925, this eccentric artist is still working and producing ever evolving styles of paintings. This painting dates from the 1960’s when Corbassiere was highly influenced by action painting.
The Autumn Decorative fair ended on Sunday. A steady flow of clients came to this popular fair and we made some great sales to existing and new clients. Amongst our important sales was a rare pair of gilded iron coat hooks by Jean Royere. A re-upholstered pair of French armchairs by ARP. A pair of […]
Preparations are now under way for the next Decorative Fair in Battersea Park. This takes place from the 30th September until Sunday 5th October. We will be exhibiting in our usual stand. Amongst our recent acquisitions are a couple of Quinet gilt metal coffee tables. A mirrored framed mirror after Max Ingrand. A fantastic rosewood […]
We will be away in France for the month of August sourcing new items which will be regularly updated to the website. One great find is an exquisite small bronze sculpture by the artist Etienne Hadju. 1907-1996. Hadju trained in Budapest and then studied in Vienna at the Classical Art Studio of Antoine Bourdelle and […]
July sees the end of one of its important summer fair and auction seasons, as London prepares to retire from its busy schedule during the month of July and August. Masterpiece London as usual did not fail to impress. Exhibitors brought the best of their stock, showing in the temporary purpose built marquee a vast and very selective presentation […]
The month of June is always a busy time of year for the antiques and art market. The Fine Art Fair at Olympia will open its doors on Thursday 5th June followed by Art Antiques London from the 12th -18th June and ending with Masterpiece from the 26th-2nd July. All three fairs are amongst the best […]
Some interesting objects, Biot glass vases, a big Vallauris ceramic bowl and ceiling lights were among the stock recently sourced on our trip to France. This elegant bronze vide poche has an unusual shape and the good quality is typical of the bronze ware that was produced in the 1960s in France at the time.
The Spring Decorative Fair in Battersea Park will be taking place in a few weeks time. Unfortunately due to other work commitments we will be missing this fair, however we will be back in October in our normal spot. A forthcoming buying trip will take us to France, so more stock will be added to the […]
A stand became available at the last hour at the Little Chelsea Antiques Fair on the Kings Road, so we grabbed the opportunity to exhibit there. Just two days long, this well established fair with a famous reputation for selling antiques from £10 to £10,000 attracts many potential buyers. Exhibiting more of a varied stock […]
Happy New Year to you all. We are hoping 2014 will be a lucrative and rewarding year and that interesting and unique pieces will be sourced. Reflecting back to a year ago, we did not envisage the market picking up, but it did and hopefully it will continue to do so. The Decorative Arts have […]
The festive season has arrived and the end of the year is fast approaching. There has been an increase in sales over the last 12 months and we are hoping that this will continue to improve in 2014. The last Decorative Fair in Battersea Park was a success for us and many other dealers and […]
There have been some interesting exhibitions taking place in the past few weeks. The Pavilion des Arts Decoratifs, PAD showed in Berkeley Square. A great setting in central London for a selected picking of international and national dealers selling top end 20th century design and art. This was closely followed by Frieze London, revamped this year and working in […]
