May 2012

The Spring Fair in Battersea Park has just ended. Trading took place and despite the torrential rain, spirits remained high. Our Robsjohn Gibbings sideboard and standard lamp sold to new decorators in the states. One of the most respected Designers in London bought our ceiling light and other pieces were sold to new clients.

Our next fair takes place at Lords on Sunday 27th May. The Midcentury Modern Show, Lords Cricket Ground, The Nursery Pavilion, North Gate, London NW8 8QN. 10-4pm Tickets can be bought from www.Modernshows.com

‘The brilliantly curated Modern Shows is a must-visit event for anyone after original mid-century design.’
Charlotte Abrahams, freelance design writer FT How to Spend it, Guardian, Observer, Elle
The Midcentury Show returns for a second time to the spiritual home of cricket for what is to become a biannual affair which showcases the best mid-century dealers bang in the heart of St John’s Wood. Enjoy walking around and chatting to 50 top dealers selling design classics from the behemoths of design including Wegner, Eames, Jacobsen, Nelson and Day. The prime Scandinavian, American and European 30s to 80s furniture and homeware will get collectors and midcentury fans scrabbling for their cheque books. Previous attendees include Mary ‘queen of shops’ Portas and the man who created both Wallpaper and Monocle Mr Tyler Brule. Last year’s hits were quirky pieces like polished American chrome traffic lights, cigarette machines, an antique maternity table and a polished chrome children’s car. This year we have so much more in store for you, we can’t wait to go shopping ourselves.  As quoted on the Midcentury Modern website.
