Happy New Year to you all. We are hoping 2014 will be a lucrative and rewarding year and that interesting and unique pieces will be sourced. Reflecting back to a year ago, we did not envisage the market picking up, but it did and hopefully it will continue to do so. The Decorative Arts have provided some top prices in Paris, London and New York. Giacometti’s ” Bird console table” made £438,595 in November at Christies and the rare sinuous Liane wall light by Jean Royere, more than doubled estimates and went for £368,420. Good design will hold it’s value and continue to be in demand.
The Winter Decorative Fair in Battersea Park, opens on Tuesday 21st January and we will be exhibiting there in our normal spot. New pieces of stock have been sourced in France and are not on the website so do come and see us at the Fair where you will see them displayed. If you would like to be added to our mailing list and receive a complimentary invitation, please email us.
