The month of June is always a busy time of year for the antiques and art market. The Fine Art Fair at Olympia will open its doors on Thursday 5th June followed by Art Antiques London from the 12th -18th June and ending with Masterpiece from the 26th-2nd July. All three fairs are amongst the best in the world and definitely worth a visit. Auction houses are also busy with high profile sales. There have been some outstanding results with 20th century design, notably with Jean Prouve’s works in both furniture and architecture. In the recent Design sale at Phillips, a prefabricated entry lodge from the Ferembal factory in Nancy sold for £150,000. This however seemed a small price to pay compared to Prouve’s wood and metal table which sold for £869, 565 at Artcurial.
Recent additions to our site will include an Italian 1950’s trolley/side table. A pair of two tier side tables, a good design mirror seen here and a small selection of other objects.
